What is TERA?

Different Needs
TERA can be customized to suit different needs - choose the features that suit you
Sign language?
Use both speech-to-text and text-to-speech. What your conversation partner says is automatically transcribed, and what you type is read out using TERA's speech synthesis. You can choose between a male or female voice. You can also make video calls with other sign language users via video phone.
Hearing loss or adult deafness?
Use only speech-to-text. You see what is said as text in real time, and speak as usual - the conversation partner hears your voice. Perfect as support if you miss certain words in the conversation.
Speech difficulties?
Use text-to-speech only. You type your response and hear the other person's voice, while TERA reads your text out using synthetic speech.
TERA Touch (iPadOS)
Auto-subtitles, text-to-speech and video on your tablet.
TERA-Touch is TERA for tablets – perfect for both home and other environments. The larger screen provides a better experience during video calls, while the device is sleek and easy to carry.
TERA Mobile (iOS)
Auto-subtitles, text-to-speech and video on your smartphone.
TERA-Mobile is the mobile-friendly version of TERA-Touch. It is suitable for those of you who are often on the go and primarily communicate via your mobile phone.
TERA-Local
Auto-subtitles and text-to-speech in meetings
TERA-Local is available in both TERA-Touch and TERA-Mobile. The feature makes it possible to converse with people in the same room – for example, a colleague, doctor or store employee – with the support of text and synthetic speech.

Talk in Person – No Extra Tech Needed
TERA-Local is a built-in feature in TERA that makes it possible to communicate with people in the same physical room – for example colleagues, doctors or store staff. What is said is texted in real time, and you can respond with speech synthesis directly from the app – without the other person needing any special equipment or app.
Switch Seamlessly Between Local and Regular Calls
You can seamlessly switch between local calls with TERA-Local and regular phone calls – right in the same app. The service works just as well in everyday conversations as in meetings, healthcare visits or other environments where clear and accessible communication is needed.
Multi-Party Conversations Made Clear
TERA-Local also supports multi-party conversations, where voice recognition shows who is saying what, increasing clarity and understanding in multi-person conversations. The text is also clearly displayed for the conversation partner, facilitating mutual communication.
For better sound when talking in the same room
When using TERA-Local for on-site calls, the device's built-in microphone often works well in quiet environments. However, in contexts with background noise, murmur or echo, an external microphone is recommended to ensure the best possible sound recognition.

HEALTH
With TERA you can contact the health center, 1177 and other agencies - the conversation is texted in real time, even through switches. This gives you control in important conversations, especially when you are in a hurry. You can choose to save the text to remember what was said.
STAY IN TOUCH
TERA makes it easy to call family and friends – without them needing a special app. For those with speech difficulties, there is support with speech synthesis and text. You can also use video to communicate with others via video phone.
WORK AND LEISURE
With TERA-Local you can follow conversations in the same room – with text support that makes it easier in meetings, stores and everyday situations. The function reduces auditory stress and can complement lip reading. Activated directly in the app.
